BE CHINATOWN noticed the gateway not a focal point anymore as it wasn't a visible at night as it once was. Our members have worked tiredlessly to change that. We worked with an LED Vendor to get the lights and have it installed. We are working with SFDPW District 3 Public Information Officer to help with some of the logistics. We are almost there. We are looking to fix the timers to ensure the lights go on at night.
Update: We spoke with John from SFWater who connected us to Robert at SFDPW. And they'll be looking at the gate before Chinese New Year. And will adjust the timer and checkout the circuitry too. And hopefully, the Dragon will Return to its former glory! A service order was submitted and DPW is working on it. In the meantime, we asked the LED vendor who donated the lights, if he could connect the remaining half into one module as its a low voltage situation. He said sure. And he did. Now we just need to talk with him about coloration and light sequencing.
Update 2: SFDPW has repainted the Dragon Gate sign as well as all Chinese Lamp Posts in time for Chinese New Year.
